Pareto, Graziella (actually, Gracida)
Pareto, Graziella (actually, Gracida), Spanish soprano; b. Barcelona, March 6, 1888; d. Rome, Sept. 1, 1973. She studied with Vidal in Milan. She made her operatic debut as Micaëla in Barcelona in 1906; then sang at the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, in Turin, and in St. Petersburg. In 1914 she appeared at La Scala in Milan; subsequently sang at Covent Garden in London (1920), in Chicago (1923–25), and in Salzburg (1931). Among her prominent roles were Rosina, Ophelia, Marguerite de Valois, Violetta, and Norina.
