Paolo da Firenze

Paolo da Firenze, Italian composer and music theorist; b. place and date unknown; d. Arezzo, September 1419. He was a member of the Camaldolese order, and died in its monastery of S. Viti. Among his extant works are 11 madrigals, 22 ballate, and 2 sacred pieces. He was the author of the treatise Ars ad adiscendum contrapunctum.
