Nordblom, Johan Erik
Nordblom, Johan Erik, Swedish organist, bass, teacher, and composer; b. Uppsala, April 12, 1788; d. there, Dec. 25, 1848. He was a student of J.C.F. Haeffner in Uppsala, whom he succeeded as director musices of the Univ. orch. and as organist of the Cathedral there (1833). He also was active as a concert singer and vocal teacher in Stockholm. Nordblom’s songs for men’s chorus and his solo songs were much admired in Sweden. His daughter, Johanna Maria Nordblom (1827–1909), was a singer. She married the composer P.A. Ölander in 1853.
