Neikrug, Marc (Edward)

Neikrug, Marc (Edward), American pianist and composer; b. N.Y, Sept. 24, 1946. He was a student of Klebe at the Northwest Music Academy in Detmold (1964–68), of Schuller at the Berkshire Music Center in Tanglewood, and at the State Univ. of N.Y. at Stony Brook (M.M., 1971). In 1972 he was composer-in-residence at the Marlboro (Vt.) Music Festival. From 1975 he toured extensively in duo concert appearances with Pinchas Zukerman. From 1978 to 1986 he was a consultant on contemporary music to the St. Paul (Minn.) Chamber Orch. As a composer, Neikrug has produced both tonal and atonal scores.
