Naudot, Jacques-Christophe, French flutist, teacher, and composer; b. c. 1690; d. Paris, Nov. 26, 1762. He pursued his career in Paris, where he became especially well known as an instrumentalist and teacher. He also was adept at composing for the flute in the Italian style. His set of flute concertos, publ. as 6 concerto en 7 parties for Flute, 3 Violins, Viola, Cello or Bassoon, and Basso Continuo, op.11 (Paris, c. 1737), are particularly notable. He also publ. many flute sonatas for 1 or 2 flutes, various pieces for hurdy-gurdy or musette, other instrumental scores, and Masonic songs.
