Mount-Edgcumbe, Richard, Second Earl of
Mount-Edgcumbe, Richard, Second Earl of, English nobleman and amateur musician; b. Plymouth, Sept. 13, 1764; d. Richmond, Surrey, Sept. 26, 1839. He was the (anonymous) author of the book Musical Reminiscences, containing an Account of the Italian Opera in England from 1773 (1824; 4th ed., 1834). He also wrote an opera, Zenobia (in Italian), which was produced in London on May 22, 1800.
