Mesangeau, René

Mesangeau, René, notable French lutenist, teacher, and composer; b. place and date unknown; d. Paris, 1638. He was an equerry at the French court by 1619, serving as a musicien ordinaire du Roi to Louis XIII from 1621 until his death. Many of his lute pieces appeared in contemporary editions. See A.
