Lucchesini, Andrea
Lucchesini, Andrea, Italian pianist; b. Montecatini, July 8, 1965. He began studies at the age of 7 with Maria Tipo, continuing his training at the Istituto Musicale Giuseppe Verdi. After winning the Dino Ciani Competition in Milan in 1983, he embarked upon a tour of Italy, giving a particularly noteworthy recital at Milan’s La Scala; also toured in Germany, France, and Switzerland. He made his U.S. debut at the Newport (R.I.) Music Festival in 1984; also appeared elsewhere in the U.S. and throughout Europe.
