Krainev, Vladimir (Vsevolodovich)
Krainev, Vladimir (Vsevolodovich), Russian pianist; b. Krasnoyarsk, April 1, 1944. He studied with Anaida Sumbatian at Moscow’s Central Music School (graduated, 1962), then with Heinrich Neuhaus (1962–64) and Stanislav Neuhaus (1964–67) at the Moscow Cons., where he completed his postgraduate studies (1969). He won 2nd prize in the Leeds Competition (1963); then 1st prize in the Vianna da Motta Competition in Lisbon (1964) and the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow (1970). He subsequently made tours of Europe and the U.S.
