Berlin Opera 1913–31. NY Met 1922–4. Bayreuth Fest. 1914 and 1924–7. Gave f.p. of Strauss's 3 Hymns, Op.71, Berlin 1921. Wife of Max von Schillings. NY Met début 1923 (created title-role in Schillings's Mona Lisa). Became stage dir. in Berlin in 1930s.
