Karasowski, Moritz (actually, Maurycy)
Karasowski, Moritz (actually, Maurycy), Polish cellist and writer on music; b. Warsaw, Sept. 22, 1823; d. Dresden, April 20, 1892. He studied in Warsaw, Berlin, Vienna, and Paris. He was a cellist in the opera orch. in Warsaw from 1851, and later settled in Dresden as a member of the opera orch. (1864), being named a court musician in 1868.
