Hardenberger, Håkan, Swedish trumpeter; b. Malmö, Oct. 27, 1961. He began trumpet lessons at the age of 8 with Bo Nilsson in Malmö, and later pursued more extensive training with Pierre Thibaud at the Paris Cons, and with Thomas Stevens in Los Angeles. He also received instruction from Dokshitscher in Moscow, Herseth in Chicago, and Tarr in Basel. He began performing while still a youth, making his solo debut with orch. when he was 15. After winning prizes in competitions in Paris, Munich, Toulon, and Geneva, he toured extensively in Europe and North and South America. His repertoire includes both standard and contemporary works.
