Groot, Cor de

Groot, Cor de, Dutch pianist, teacher, and composer; b. Amsterdam, July 7, 1914; d. there, May 26, 1993. He studied composition with Sem Dresden at the Amsterdam Cons. After winning the Vienna piano competition in 1936, he toured Europe and the U.S. He later was active as a piano teacher in The Hague and as a librarian and archivist in Hilversum.
