Foerstrová-Lautererová, Berta, Czech soprano; b. Prague, Jan. 11, 1869; d. there, April 9, 1936. She studied in Prague, and made her debut as Agathe in Der Freischiltz at the Prague National Theater in 1887. During her tenure there, she created roles in Dvorak’s operas Jakobin and Dimitrij. She was a member of the Hamburg Opera (1893–1901), and then sang with the Vienna Court Opera (1901–13), appearing under the name of Foerster-Lauterer; she retired in 1914. Her husband was Josef Bohuslav Foerster .
