Eto, Toshiya
Eto, Toshiya, Japanese violinist and teacher; b. Tokyo, Nov. 9, 1927. He was a student of Suzuki in Japan and of Zimbalist at the Curtis Inst. of Music in Philadelphia, where he taught (1953–61) before joining the Toho School of Music in Tokyo. In 1951 he made his U.S. debut at N.Y.’s Carnegie Hall and in 1968 his British debut in London.
