Cornet, Peeter
Cornet, Peeter , Flemish organist and composer; b. probably in Brussels, c. 1575; d. there, March 27, 1633. He was born into a musical family and spent his entire career in Brussels. From 1603 to 1606 he was organist at St. Nicolas, and then was in the service of the court of Archduke Albert. Cornet excelled as a composer of extended keyboard fantasias. W. Apel ed. P.
