Cavendish, Michael

Cavendish, Michael, English composer; b. c. 1565; d. London, July 5?, 1628. He was a member of the nobility. He publ. a vol. of 20 ayres for the lute or with three other voices, and eight madrigals (1598; ed. by E. Fellowes in The English School of Lutenist-songwriters, second series, VII, 1926, and in The English Madrigalists, rev. by T. Dart, XXXVI, 1961).
