Busch, Hermann

Busch, Hermann, noted German cellist, brother of Adolf (Georg Wilhelm) and Fritz Busch; b. Siegen, Westphalia, June 24, 1897; d. Bryn Mawr, Pa., June 3, 1975. He studied at the Cologne Cons. and the Vienna Academy of Music; played cello in the Vienna Sym. Orch. (1923–27); in 1926 he became a member of the Busch Trio; was also a member of the renowned Busch Quartet from 1930 until the death of his brother Adolf in 1952. During his last years of life, he taught at the Marlboro School of Music in Vt.
