Bournonville, Valentin de
Bournonville, Valentin de, French composer, son of Jean de Bournonville; b. probably in St. Quentin, c. 1610; d. probably in Chartres, Dec. 1663. He studied with his father, and became active as a musician in Amiens. In 1646 he became maître de musique at Notre Dame in Paris. In 1653 he was appointed choir director of the school in Chartres. In 1662 he returned to his former post at Notre Dame in Paris.
