Atkins, (Sir) Ivor (Algernon) (b Llandaff, 1869; d Worcester, 1953). Eng. organist, composer, and conductor. Org., Worcester Cath. 1897–1950. Cond. Worcester Fests. for 50 years; composer of choral works, e.g. Hymn of Faith. Ed. with Elgar of Bach's St Matthew Passion (1911). Knighted 1921.
