The U.S. Vs. John Lennon ★★ 2006 (PG-13)

A look at peace advocate John Lennon's post-Beatles contributions to music and popular culture that leaves out the man's dark edges (the documentary was made with the cooperation of Yoko Ono, so no surprise there). The focus is on the Nixon's administration paranoid view of Lennon as an enemy to national security and his subjection to wiretapping, surveillance, and a deportation order. Music from Lennon's solo career highlights the visuals and it features an odd group of talking heads, from Geraldo Rivera to Gore Vidal. 99m/C DVD .
