Funny, intelligent Abby (Garofalo) hosts a popular radio callin show for pet lovers. When a handsome Brit photographer (Chaplin) phones in with a Great Dane problem, he becomes intrigued by her voice, and asks for a date. Insecure about her looks, Abby asks her beautifulbutdim girlfriend Noelle (Thurman) to fill in. Naturally, both women fall for the shy Englishman. Charming, updated version of “Cyrano de Bergerac” theme works because of strong lead performances, especially Garofalo, who steals the show with her dry, selfeffacing wit.
