The Noah
The Noah ★★½ 1975
Bourla's only film, filmed in 1968 with a brief appearance on the festival circuit in 1975, is a murky B&W post-apocalyptic nightmare. Former soldier Noah (character actor Strauss) is the only survivor of a nuclear holocaust. He finds himself marooned on an island that once housed a Communist Chinese military facility, thus offering him shelter. Unable to cope with his solitude, Noah begins hearing voices that grow into an imaginary civilization complete with problems, including a war, which Noah must battle. A definite cinematic oddity. 107m/B DVD . Robert Strauss; D: Daniel Bourla; W: Daniel Bourla; C: Jerry Kalogeratos; V: Geoffrey Holder, Sally Kirkland, Jim Blackmore.
