Le Bonheur
Le Bonheur ★★½ Happiness 1965
A seemingly happily married carpenter (Drouot) takes a vacation with his wife and children where he meets the local postal clerk and the two begin a passionate affair. Unwilling to leave his family, Drouot believes the two women can share him but when his wife discovers his infidelity she kills herself. His grief does not cause Drouot to stop the affair, instead he moves in with his mistress. An uninvolving, unbelievable tale with a lovely Mozart score. In French with English subtitles. 87m/C VHS . FR Jean-Claude Drouot, Claire Drouot, Marie-France Boyer; D: Agnes Varda; W: Agnes Varda; C: Jean Rabier, Claude Beausoleil.
