Peretz moved his atmospheric debut feature (adapted from a short story by Ian McEwan) from the English coast to the bayous of Louisiana. There local gal Sissel (Gregson Wagner) is shacking up with fishoutofwater Brooklyn boy Joey (Ribisi). They have a lot of sex. Sissel finally introduces Joey to her crazy father Henry (Burke) and the two men get in volved in an eelcatching business. Then Sissel and Joey start spatting and soon they're not having sex anymore and their romance drifts away. The film does look really good. 93m/C VHS .
