BREZIANU, Andrei. American (born Romania), b. 1934. Genres: Novels, Literary criticism and history, Area studies. Career: Voice of America, Washington, DC, international radio broadcaster, Romanian service chief, chief editor, 1986-. Also serves as English editor for "Secolul 20," and the World Literature Journal of the Romanian Writers Union. Taught at the University of Bucharest, 1970-79; Catholic University of America, 1990-91; University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, 1998, and Free International University of Moldova, 1998, 1999, and 2000. Publications: Iesirea La Tarmuri (novel), 1978; Castelul Romanului (novel), 1981; Odiseu in Atlantic (studies in world literature), 1977; Translatii (essays in cross-cultural communication), 1982; (with others) Romania-A Case in Dynastic Communism, 1989; The Historical Dictionary of the Republic of Moldova, 2000.
