Born to Be Wild ★½ 1995 (PG)

Rebellious teenager Rick (Hornoff) befriends Katie, the three-year-old gorilla his behaviorial scientist mom (Shaver) is studying. When Katie's owner (Boyle) decides she would make a better sideshow attraction than science project, Rick busts her out and they head for the Canadian border. Animal slapstick and bodily function jokes ensue as the chase continues. “Free Willy”-inspired plot and primate hi-jinks should keep young kids interested, but anyone over the age of nine probably won't be too impressed. 98m/C VHS, DVD . Thomas F. Wilson, Wil Horneff, Helen Shaver, Peter Boyle, Jean Marie Barnwell, John C. McGinley, Marvin J. McIntyre; D: John Gray; W: John Bunzel, Paul Young; C: Donald M. Morgan.
