Battle Cry ★★★ 1955

A group of U.S. Marines train, romance, and enter battle in WWII. But it takes 'em a while to do it. Walsh's film focuses on the psychology of training men to fight, and to wait for the chance. Uris's script (from his own novel) also spends an inordinate amount of time on the love lives of the soldiers. 169m/C VHS, DVD .
