Australian tennis player. Born in 1942 in Sydney, Australia; married Bill Bowrey (a tennis player).

Lesley Turner was born in 1942 in Sydney into a well-known tennis family. In 1963, she was chosen as a member of Australia's inaugural Federation Cup team. In 1964 and 1967, she was runner-up for the Australian Open title. A stylish, strong, precise player, she eventually won 13 Grand Slam events, including two French singles titles in 1963 and 1965. With Margaret Court , Turner won the 1964 Wimbledon ladies' doubles; the pair also took the French Open doubles title in 1964 and 1965. Turner captured the 1961 and 1964 mixed doubles titles at Wimbledon as well, partnering with Fred Stolle, and the women's doubles championship at the 1961 U.S. Open, teamed with Darlene Hard . She married Bill Bowrey, a tennis player who won the Australian Open in 1968.
