Born on May 31, 1527; died on November 4, 1555; daughter of Christine of Saxony (1505–1549) and Philip I the Magnanimous, landgrave of Hesse; married Maurice, elector of Saxony, on January 9, 1541; married John Frederick II, elector of Saxony, on May 26, 1555; children: (first marriage) Anna of Saxony (1544–1577).
