Greek publisher and politician. Born Feb 7, 1949, in Athens, Greece; University of Athens, law degree (1973); University of Rome, postgraduate diploma in philosophy of law (1975).
Worked as translator (1972–78), publisher (1973–92), consultant at the Ministry of Culture (1992–93), and director of the National Book Centre (1994–99); as a European Socialist, elected to 5th European Parliament (1999–2004).
