German poet. Name variations: Christiana Mariana von Ziegler; Christiana Mariana von Steinwehr. Born Christiane Mariane Romanus, June 28, 1695 in Leipzig, Germany; died May 1, 1760, in Frankfurt, Germany; dau. of Franz Conrad Romanus (mayor of Leipzig); m. Heinrich Levin (died); m. Georg Friedrich von Ziegler (died 1722); m. Balthasar von Steinwehr, 1741; children: 2 (died young).

Opened literary salon in Leipzig and gained fame for poetry, some of which was set to music by J. S. Bach; became 1st woman member of poet Johann Christoph Gottsched's literary society, Deutsche Gesellschaft; published anthology Versuch in gebundener Schreib-Art (1728), which contain the texts of the 9 cantatas composed by Bach; was poet laureate of University of Wittenberg (1733).
