Thusnelda (fl. 1st c. ce)

Germanic warrior and military advisor. Probably born at the end of the 1st century bce; died early in the 1st century ce.

Known for her bravery, Thusnelda served as the key military advisor to Hermann of Germany (Arminius) during the first two decades of the 1st century. During their fight against the Romans, she was captured, put in chains, and taken to Rome. Thusnelda's bravery is celebrated in folktales.
