Soyer, Ida (1909–1970)
American modern dancer. Born 1909 in US; died July 4, 1970, in Hamptons, NY; dau. of Russian immigrants; m. Moses Soyer (1899–1974, artist), c. 1927; sister-in-law of Raphael Soyer (1899–1987, artist); children: David Soyer (b. 1928).
As an original member of Helen Tamiris' concert group (1931–44), danced in Tamiris' Olimpus Americanus (1932), Mourning Ceremonial (1932), and Towards the Night (1934); performed for other choreographers, notably in Dorothy Barret's Last Spring (1938).
