American singer. Name variations: Sister Sledge. Born 1957 in Philadelphia, PA; sister of Debra, Kathy and Kim Sledge (all singers); graduate of Temple University.
With sisters, formed Sister Sledge (late 1950s) in Philadelphia; released album, We Are Family (1979), which went gold and contained dance hits, "He's the Greatest Dancer" and "We Are Family."
