Sigerson, Hester (d. 1898)
Irish novelist and poet. Born Hester Varian in Cork, Ireland; birth date unknown; died in 1898; daughter of Amos Varian of Cork; married Dr. George Sigerson (a writer and historian), in 1861; children: Dora Sigerson (1866–1918); Hester Sigerson Piatt (a poet).
Hester Sigerson was a frequent contributor to The Boston Pilot, The Gael, and Irish Fireside. Her one novel A Ruined Race was published by Sheed and Ward in 1889.
