American actress. Born Tatum Beatrice O'Neal, Nov 5, 1963, in Los Angeles, CA; dau. of Ryan O'Neal and Joanna Moore (both actors); sister of actor Griffin O'Neal; m. John McEnroe (tennis player), 1986 (div. 1994); children: Kevin, Sean, and Emily.
At 11, won Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for Paper Moon (1974), the youngest person to win in a competitive category; also starred in The Bad News Bears (1976), Nickelodeon (1976), International Velvet (1978), Little Darlings (1980), Prisoners (1981) and Woman on the Run: The Lawrencia Bembenek Story (1993).
