Marchioness of Exeter. Name variations: Gertrude Blount. Born Gertrude Blount c. 1504; died Sept 25, 1558; dau. of William Blount, 4th baron Mountjoy, and Elizabeth Saye; 2nd wife of Henry Courtenay, marquis of Exeter, Oct 25, 1519 (executed 1538 or 1539); children: Edward Courtenay, 1st earl of Devon (c. 1526–1556).

Devout Roman Catholic, championed Elizabeth Barton; when husband was sent to the Tower, was also accused of being an aspirant to the crown and imprisoned in the Tower (1538); attainted (1539); saw attainder reversed (1553) and became a lady-in-waiting to Queen Mary I.
