Bonney, Lores (1897–1994)
Australian aviator. Name variations: Maude Rose Bonney; Mrs. Harry Bonney. Born 1897; died Feb 24, 1994; m. Harry B. Bonney.
Began flying (1931); was the 1st female pilot to fly from Australia to England in a Gypsy Moth (April 15-June 21, 1933); was the 1st pilot to fly between Brisbane and Capetown, South Africa (1937). Awarded MBE.
