Andrews, Maxene (1916–1995)
American singer. Name variations: sometimes mistakenly spelled Maxine. Born Jan 3, 1916, in Minneapolis, Minnesota; died of a heart attack while vacationing in Hyannis, Massachusetts, Oct 21, 1995; sister of Patti and LaVerne Andrews; m. Lou Levy (their manager), July 28, 1941 (div. 1950).
As one of the Andrews Sisters (1932–1953), appeared on national radio shows and in feature films; especially known for appearances at morale-boosting USO shows during WWII.
