therapeutic community
therapeutic community Residential units run on psychodynamic lines, first introduced for war-time rehabilitation, then developed for those with neurotic and behaviour disorders. The aim is to create a therapeutic environment in which patients are actively involved in their therapy and the hierarchy between therapist and patient is fractured. Interpersonal interactions are analysed in regular group meetings.
