Evarts Ambrose Graham

1883-1957

American surgeon who in 1933 with J. J. Singer performed the first successful total lung removal. In 1924 Graham and W. H. Cole developed the Graham-Cole test, which is an x ray study of the gall bladder. He was also responsible for a new treatment of the chronic occurrence of an abscess in the lung and contributed to the understanding and treatment of tumor growth in the bronchus of the lung.
