MONDZAIN, SIMON
MONDZAIN, SIMON (1890–1979), French painter. Born in Lublin, Poland, Mondzain came to Paris in 1909. He painted figures of men and women with musical instruments, as well as portraits, interiors and still lifes, but became known largely through his sensitive studies of villages in France, Algiers, and Morocco. His style was post-impressionist, with elements of expressionism.
