Keltie, Sir John Scott
Sir John Scott Keltie, 1840–1927, Scottish geographer. He was inspector of geographical education for the Royal Geographic Society, librarian, and secretary of the society. In 1880 he became editor of The Statesman's Yearbook, and in 1925 joint editor of the Geographical Journal. His works include A History of the Scottish Highlands and Clans (1874), Report on Geographic Education (1886), The Partition of Africa (1894), Applied Geography (new ed. 1908), and History of Geography (with O. J. R. Howarth, 1914).
