Ecatepec de Morelos
Ecatepec de Morelos (ākätāpĕk´ dā mōrā´lōs), city (1990 pop. 1,218,135), Mexico state, S central Mexico. It is an industrial center. Ecatepec was the site of an Aztec kingdom established in the 12th cent. The Mexican revolutionary hero Morelos y Pavón was executed by the Spanish at Ecatepec in 1815; a monument to him stands in the city.
