Bozeman, city (1990 pop. 22,660), seat of Gallatin co., SW Mont.; inc. 1883. Named after John M. Bozeman is the headquarters of Gallatin National Forest, and Yellowstone National Park is nearby. Montana State Univ. and the Museum of the Rockies are here, and the city has become an arts and vacation-home center.
