-ulous adj. suffix repr. L. -ulōsus -ULOSE and -ulus; to the former belong, e.g., fabulous, meticulous, populous, to the latter, e.g., credulous, garrulous, sedulous. In a few instances L. adjs. of both types exist, as querulus, querulōsus QUERULOUS, rīdiculus, rīdiculōsus RIDICULOUS.
