ST. JOHN (ACADIA). Quebec. This town, later the largest city in New Brunswick, Canada, is likely to be confused with St. Johns on the Richelieu River, later called St. Jean, in Quebec Province, Canada. The St. John in New Brunswick was a center of Loyalist settlement after the Revolution. St. John's (written with an apostrophe) is in Newfoundland.
