Born August 10, c. 1910, in New York, NY (some sources cite Campgaw, NJ); died October 20, 2006, in Los Angeles, CA. Actress. Wyatt acted in countless films and television shows during her long entertainment career, but she will be best remembered for her Emmy Award-winning role as the wife and mother in the television series Father Knows Best, which aired from 1954 to 1960. Wyatt first began acting on stage, making her Broadway debut in Give Me Yesterday in 1931. She performed in a number of theatrical productions from the 1930s through the 1960s, including The Joyous Season, Night Music, and The Autumn Garden. Wyatt was offered a contract with Universal Pictures in 1934 and made her feature film debut as Dinny Cherrell in One More River that same year. Notable films in which Wyatt starred include Lost Horizon, Buckskin Frontier, None But the Lonely Heart, Boomerang, My Blue Heaven, and Gentlemen's Agreement. In addition to her role in Father Knows Best, Wyatt had other memorable roles, such as her guest appearance as Spock's mother in a 1967 episode of Star Trek. She reprised this role in the 1986 feature film Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.
