Dr. Anderson Abbott Awards (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support students with their educational pursuit. Focus: Medicine; Health sciences. Qualif.: Applicant must be a black student of UofT Criteria: The selection committee may give preference to student in the medical program or in a related health science program.

Funds Avail.: $4000. Number Awarded: 1. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed Abbot application form along with the required materials and information. Deadline: March 28.

Al Mercury Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support students with their educational pursuits. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a UofT student demonstrated community involvement, academic excellence, integrity and an appreciation and interest in music. Criteria: Selection is based on general proficiency or outstanding achievements.

Funds Avail.: Approximately $700. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form along with the required materials and information. Deadline: March 28.

Stephanie Ali Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support students with their educational pursuits. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a student of U of T; in financial need; and have demonstrated commitment to community work or participation in charitable activities. Criteria: Preference is given to student who are past or present members of the University of Toronto Gospel Choir.

Funds Avail.: Approximately $200. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed Stephanie Ali Memorial Scholarships application form along with the required materials and information. Deadline: March 28.

J.P. Bickell Mining Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support students with their educational pursuits. Focus: Geology; Geophysics; Earth sciences; Mining; Environmental science. Qualif.: Applicant must be a student of U of T; an undergraduate student in second or higher years studying mining (including the geological and geophysical fields as well as environmental sciences, geological sciences, earth science programs and mining engineering); have a minimum GPA of B or better and have demonstrated interest in the mining industry or field. Criteria: Selection is based on general proficiency or outstanding achievements.

Funds Avail.: Approximately $2000. To Apply: Applicants must submit a letter of application together with a letter outlining the interest in the mining industry. Deadline: October 31.

Leon C. Bynoe Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support students with their educational pursuits. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a student of U of T; an undergraduate student enrolled in an undergraduate degree program; and must demonstrate outstanding service to the Afro-Canadian community. Criteria: Selection is based on financial need and outstanding academic achievement. Preference is given to students from the Afro-Canadian community and MTHA residents.

Funds Avail.: Approximately $1300. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed Leon C. Bynoe Memorial Scholarships application form along with the required materials and information. Deadline: November 30.

Canadian Federation of University Women Etobicoke Bursary (Graduate, Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support students with their educational pursuits. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a female undergraduate or graduate student of U of T; a resident of Etobicoke; and in need of financial assistance for education. Criteria: Selection is based on general proficiency or outstanding achievements.

Funds Avail.: $1000 and $650. Number Awarded: 1 first year undergraduate student; 1 second or higher year undergraduate student; and 1 graduate student. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed Canadian Federation of University Women Etobicoke Bursary application form along with the required materials and information. Deadline: October 31.

Canadian Macedonian Federation Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support students with their educational pursuits. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be a student of U of T in second, third or fourth year of any degree program with a minimum GPA of 3.5; a member of the Canadian Macedonian Federation, or have made a major commitment to any of its member service organizations through community service, contribution of a minimum of one year. Criteria: Selection is based on general proficiency or outstanding achievements.

Funds Avail.: Approximately $250. To Apply: Applicants must submit a letter outlining the qualifications; attach a transcript of results, with a list of involvement or contribution to the Canadian Macedonian Federation or its member service organizations; and a proof of membership in the Federation (if applicable). Deadline: March 28.

Chinese-Canadian History and Culture Fellowships (Graduate/Fellowship)

Purpose: To support a master's or doctoral research on Chinese-Canadian community. Focus: Area and ethnic studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be master's or doctoral students planning to engage in research at the University of Toronto in the history, cultural or social make-up of a Chinese-Canadian community; and must be fluent in a Chinese dialect. Criteria: Preference is given to students who have not previously held the award.

Funds Avail.: $6000 (Masters student) or $7000 (Doctoral student). Number Awarded: 1. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form along with official transcripts of academic results of all university studies; three letters of recommendation; and a comprehensive description of the research which will be performed during the period of the fellowship. Deadline: April 25.

City of Toronto Graduate Scholarships for Women in Mathematics (Graduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support students with their educational pursuits. Focus: Mathematics and mathematical sciences. Qualif.: Applicants must be a female student of UofT enrolled in a master's or doctoral program in mathematics. Criteria: Selection is based on financial need, academic merit and demonstrated interest in issues related to women in mathematics.

City of Toronto Queen Elizabeth II Sesquicentennial Scholarships in Community Health Nursing (Graduate) (Graduate/Scholarship)

Qualif.: Applicant must be a graduate student enrolled in the Graduate Department of Nursing Science; have completed courses in community health and demonstrate a commitment to this aspect of nursing. City of Toronto Queen Elizabeth II Sesquicentennial Scholarships in Community Health Nursing (Undergraduate) (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support students with their educational pursuits. Focus: Nursing. Qualif.: Applicant must be undergraduate student completing the first year of the second-entry two year BScN program. Criteria: Preference may be given to students proficient in a language besides English and whose interest is to work with multicultural families.

Purpose: To support students with their educational pursuits. Focus: Women's studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be undergraduate or graduate students in Women's Studies. Criteria: Selection is based on financial need and academic merit.

Funds Avail.: Undergraduate - $5000; Graduate scholarship valued at the balance of the annual income. Number Awarded: 1 undergraduate; and 1 graduate student. Mary Jane Hendrie Memorial Scholarships (Graduate, Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support students with their educational pursuits. Focus: Japanese studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a senior undergraduate or graduate student of U of T; interested in relations between Japan and Canada with studies in business, law, economics, international relations, or political science. Criteria: Selection is based on general proficiency or outstanding achievements.

Funds Avail.: Approximately $3500. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form along with the required materials and information. Deadline: March 28.

Remarks: Faculty members can nominate a student by writing a letter to the Scholarship Selection Committee describing the student's qualifications for the award.

Irving J. Hoffman Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support students with their educational pursuits. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a physically handicapped student, enrolled on either a full-time or part-time basis, demonstrates superior academic achievement; have completed at least five university level courses, or the equivalent. Students registered in OISE are not qualified. Criteria: Selection is based on academic achievement and financial need.

Funds Avail.: Approximately $500. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form along with the required materials and information. Deadline: March 28.

Hosinec Family Scholarships (Graduate, Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support students with their educational pursuits. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be undergraduate or graduate student of the U of T Criteria: Selection is based on need and academic merit.

Funds Avail.: $3000. Number Awarded: 5. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form and required materials and information. Deadline: November 30.

In-course Scholarships - Chinese Dance Workshop Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support students with their educational pursuits. Focus: Dance. Qualif.: Applicant must be a student of U of T and have attended a recognized dance institute for at least three years. Criteria: Selection is based on academic excellence and demonstrated dance experience.

Funds Avail.: Approximately $2400. To Apply: Applicants must submit a letter of application verifying at least three

years of attendance at a recognized dance institute along with a transcript of marks. Deadline: October 31.

Khaki University and Y.M.C.A. Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support students with their educational pursuits. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be enrolled in the second or higher year of an undergraduate course proceeding to a degree; have at least first class honours standing. Criteria: Preference is given to students who are descendent from one who has served in the armed forces.

Funds Avail.: Variable. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form along with the required materials and information. Deadline: November 30.

Lo Family Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support students with their educational pursuits. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person (recognized convention refugee) and will be enrolled full-time; an active leader, respected and considered to be well-rounded citizen in school and community, and have demonstrated financial need. Criteria: Selection is based on financial need and academic merit.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants must submit an online UTAPS application and a letter outlining community activity and demonstrated leadership skills; and a letter of support from school. Deadline: January.

Gertrude and Edith Lowidt and Mary Catherine Preiss Memorial Bursaries in Nutritional Sciences (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support students with their educational pursuit. Focus: Nutrition. Qualif.: Applicant must be a UofT student registered in the Faculty of Arts and Science, St. George Campus entering or in a third or fourth year course offered by the Department of Nutritional Sciences. Criteria: Selection is based on financial need. Preference is given to students intending to complete the Specialist Program in Nutritional Sciences.

John Macara, Barrister of Goderich, Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support students with their educational pursuits. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person (recognized convention refugee) and will be enrolled full-time. Criteria: Preference is given to applicants who can establish that they are the blood kin of the late Mrs. Jean Glasgow.

Joseph McCulley Educational Scholarships (Graduate, Undergraduate/Scholarship)

U of T graduate or undergraduate student whose programs of study and career interests lie in the area of public life or social work, emphasizing on penology. Criteria: Selection is based on financial need.

John H. Moss Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support students with their educational pursuits. Focus: Arts; Science. Qualif.: Applicant must be a U of T student having a minimum GPA of 3.3 (B+); demonstrates outstanding academic and extra-curricular leadership; in the graduating year in Arts and Science at the University of Toronto (St. George, Mississauga and Scarborough campuses) and intending to pursue a second degree or studies at the graduate level. Criteria: Selection is based on general proficiency or outstanding achievements.

Nortel Institute Undergraduate Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support students with their educational pursuits. Focus: Applied art; Engineering. Qualif.: Applicant must be a U of T student and a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant and a resident of Ontario; must be in the second or third year in the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering, the Faculty of Arts and Science, University of Toronto Mississauga and University of Toronto Scarborough. Ontario Hockey Association War Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support students with their educational pursuits. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person (recognized convention refugee) and will be enrolled full-time; and a descendent of one who has served with the Canadian forces. Taylor Statten Memorial Fellowships (Graduate/Scholarship)

Evald Torokvei Foundation Scholarships (Graduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support students with their educational pursuits. Focus: Chemical engineering. Qualif.: Applicant must be a graduate student engaged in research in chemicals and plastics. Criteria: Selection is based on academic standing, community and university involvement and financial need.

University of Toronto Accenture Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support students with their educational pursuits. Focus: Engineering; Computer and information sciences. Qualif.: Applicant must be a student of U of T; enrolled in an Engineering, Computer Science or Bachelor of Commerce Degree; a third year student entering the final year of study; have maintained a strong academic background - minimum GPA of 3.0; and actively involved in two or more extracurricular activities. Criteria: Preference is given to students who have not previously been awarded a Frank M. Waddell Scholarship.
